    English half penny????

Hi all, it has been a very long time since actively participating due to life in general being hectic. Though had one of those finds that I just had to put up and hopefully get a bit more info. I reckon it is a KG IV half penny 28mm in diameter and images are below. I have soaked it in olive oil...

Current shape FJ cruiser - anyone owned one, how does it tow?

There are aftermarket tanks available for the earlier versions if you are worried about fuel carrying capacity. I work at a well known 4wd accessory supplier and these vehicles have a cult following with their owners and aftermarket accessories are readily available. Toyotas have that...

The Forum's Oldest Coin. Round 1.

Here's a special one for me my birth year 1973 5 cents. I chose the 5 cent piece because I love the sniffing out hidden coins and the echidna has a great sense of smell to find them bugs and termites. :D

Finally time to start a thread

I had my first night detect on Sunday once the sun went down and went to my local park. What a different way to detect as I really started to get a better understanding of tones by working with only the street lights. Setting the discrim on the Gb pro I only found a couple of targets but all...

It's been ages since I have posted anything but just to let everyone know I am still around I have just been busy with work and family. I have had a quick couple of detects in my spare time and here are the memorable finds. Of course there is probably 20x that in junk Only a short day with work...

Finally time to start a thread

Last week went away with the family to Barmera. Staying in the caravan park and did a little bit of research prior to departing, I got to detect a couple of times in the park with permission on the Lake Bonney's edge. Return was good to say the least and got to check how the GB Pro reacted to...

    Chasing coins!!!

I vary swing speed across my target and tend to find the sound doesn't change on various passes with coins yet pull tabs and caps tend to spike especially when closer to the surface

Finally time to start a thread

Thanks Goldpick, this being my first detector I can't really compare to anything else. I purchased the unit I felt best suited my needs with the budget I had ( second hand). I am only just now starting to get an idea with the sounds the unit makes and did a heap of air tests with different items...

Well, finally after about 4 months on the forum and getting a wealth of information from others I thought I would begin to discuss my own successes. When introducing myself I explained I was introduced to the hobby ( now addiction) by my son 8 yrs of age, so we purchased a gold bug pro. Weapon...

    Newbie to the forum

G'day all, very new and inexperienced to the detecting scene. Sort of fell into it, the young fella decided he wanted a detector to find treasure. As a result I got bitten by the bug after he found a couple of coins, bottle caps and the like. So got myself a second hand Fisher gb pro after doing...
