Hi all, total rookie question....Excluding the exempted rivers/creeks list in Victoria- can I legally walk/fossick/prospect in creeks? I'm an Ararat local, and am curious as to the do's and don'ts regarding creeks and streams in the local area. Are they considered crown land, or are they private property when running through someones farm/property? Any feedback appreciated.

Some are crown land some aren't & you would need to find out for your area.
In my opinion even if they are it's still better practice to talk to property owners where they run through their land. If you need to cross their land to get to them then you'll need permission anyhow.
