Any pre decimal silver up to 1945 is 92.5% pure , 1946 onward is 50%, so any old worn ones are good for scrap , especially when that worn

I was able to identify the old English copper coin as an 1843 English farthing with a young bust (head) of Queen Victoria. I took a couple of photos but because it's so worn the photo quality isn't up to standard

Hi all. Spent a couple of hours at a local park in Newcastle as the overcast weather kept the people away from the park and gave me a clear run. 49 coins located and they were a mixed bag... 1x1910 English Penny, Australian Pennys 1919,27,28,41x2,42,43,47,48,50,51x2. Two other pennys could not be dated due to corrosion. Half Pennys 1926,39,43,45,48. One 1953 Schilling. 6x$2,2x$1,1x50c,2x20c,2x5c and 13x1&2c. Also one silver ring (mark 925). Abit disappointed that only one silver coin was found but I still haven't finished this park so maybe the best is yet to come...

Yeah Nugget I hope. Only covered an area about 50 meters square. Fair bit of junk but the finds are there if you listen through all the noise!

Due to the fine weather there were to many people on the park I hunted yesterday so I had to be happy with a small local hunt. I've posted a picture of an 1857 token Located. As the one I found didn't photograph well due to corrosion, I pasted a photo for you info. Also Found:
Sixpence; 1919 & 1944'S'. Three Pence; 1944 'S'. Penny; 1920 & 1952. Half Penny; 1912. $2 x 1, 1964 silver plated fork!.Small 'capricorn' medallion, and other junk items. Had an interesting conversation with a Council officer which i will list in general chat. Other than that had a great time!

Great to see a few Silvers in the mix :D. Do you know if the token is alluminium?

Decided to go for an hour hunt at a local location that is starting to become 'hunted to death'. After tweaking the Etrac away I went. Found the usual rubbish ( I think the ring pull/ pull tab gods were out the previous night throwing the things about) however I came across a really strange multi signal which was very chattery. The numbers were right so I dug it. To my surprise I pulled out the four three pences' pictured. Two were laying on their side hence the strange signal. Now that's a first for me. The sixpence was found only another meter away. In addition I found 1866 British penny, 1942 Australian penny, 1943 Australian half penny. Small 'Triang' brand key for a toy, and a few decimals. Just proves again 'You can never find em all'! Happy Hunting

Nice find there Scoopa , if any of those 1942 Threepences have NO MINTMARK , they are gooduns , worth $15 in VG condition & VG is the worst grade
