Would this pump be any good?

I would consider an 11/2 inch pump because of flow/volume losses due to length of hose used. There are more frictional losses in smaller hoses, therefore flow drops quicker. There are no flow charts on that add. 15000 is a big number for a 1 inch pump, most are rated at less.Increasing lift or suction kills volume output very quickly.
Have a look at rato pumps or http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-5-inch...481449?hash=item3a86f7aba9:g:JVIAAOSwl9BWKbpw.

I would steer away from it as the configuration doesn't seem quite right. It's a very large engine for a 1" pump and as a start I wouldn't think your fuel economy would be that great. Typically you'd have a 97cc (or 50cc for wx15) at roughly the same output. Check the suction and head on the pumps as well.

Looks like the ad is wrong ,
description says 1 inch , photo 38 mm inlet outlet...

the engine is generic used in many other pumps (ie onga miniblaze) but in those is rated @ 2.5-3 hp...

ask the questions...

Thanks C alan.

So with camlocks it would be possible to run the 1.5" hose then?

How has it performed for you? Don't need to run high in throttle to do what we need?
And as per blisters, how is fuel consumption?

Well, That'll make two of us bumbling along and learning :p
When my GS10 turns up it'll be the first time I'll be using one as well.

I did kind of gather that it wouldn't be a true 4hp. As long as it does the job I'll be happy

Now to gather the rest of the bits, Aka hoses and fittings etc
