Where in Eldorado to find Gems?

Hello everyone,
My family surprised me with a birthday trip to Eldorado/Beechworth next week. I have never done much research on the area and only have a few days until the trip. I am mainly interested in finding gems eg. agate, sapphires, tourmaline, quartz but of course I can't say no to gold. Mainly interested in things that can only be found far away from Melbourne.
I'm not asking for secret locations or anything, but I would like some pointers on where I should go.
Also, to find these gems, do I just use my sieves above my pan to catch any gold?

In the creek bed, up on the flood zones, in the banks of Creek. Mainly quartz etc, sapphire once in a blue moon. Not often. More gold than crystal. You xan go to moralla for crystals
