I think its a calcite crystal based on the limestone area I found it in.

Any thoughts?
 
there was heaps and heaps there took a few pickers and two larger ones. one for the mrs and myself.

Calcite is a lot softer than quartz and you should be able to see some rhombohedral cleavage (which i believe i can see), try a small scratch with a steel knife or nail, calcite will scratch easily quartz will not srcatch

It scratched calcite it is!

Nah it very dull cream.

Looks like it is Calcite because it scratched to the knife.
