Harvesting lots of feijoas now. I grew 4 trees for a privacy screen. One died.
I don't like the taste of them. Reminds me of cheap perfume.
The only person I know that likes them cannot come and collect due to the current situation.

Used the coffee grinder dedicated to dry chilli earlier this arvo to grind up dry chillies.
I was wearing one of those PPE masks as it brings up chiili dust so fine it really moves around in the air.
Outside with kids and animals well away.
Heard the next door neighbor coughing and spluttering whilst I was grinding up.
Hope I wasn't the cause

Love shallots and herbs fresh from the garden, especially with some poached eggs on toast.

Hi guys, great idea for a thread. In my garden I do things a little different and have both a typical permaculture vegetable garden, wicking beds, compost, chickens and fruit trees, coconuts etc yet also have a 12 bed an aquaponics system.
My aquaponics system can grow any food plants except root crops and usually x4 times faster than anything in the ground. eg see pics. Essentially I have two food sources- x100 Jade perch in a pond and then my vegetables which use all the available waste product or nutrient from the fish waste to produce my food. 100% organic, no dig garden, weed free and easy once set up. Feed the fish and they feed me essentially. Works well, been growing my food this way for 20 years. Was one of the first in Australia to do this. Hard to show recent pics as files are too large but here's and example a few years ago.

Good onya Animal.... I like watching those type u-tube videos.... first one I ever seen was years and years ago, it was a big asian system with the fish swimming amongst the plant roots and feeding off algae growing on the tank sides and roots.... all the while feeding the plants with their waste products (not sure what fish or plants they were but it was very interesting) white plastic tanks so the light was enough to let the algae grow. :Y:

Finally dug those holes for my hydro pinneapple plants.
All ready for the plants
Largest plant needed a root trim to make it fit properly
But they now both fit ok... water from the icecream containers was added for them both respectively.... but not the thick sludge from the bottom.
So the water level holes all face the garden.
this is the middle one.
The free pineapple top I have for that one is a smooth.... both the old ones are the rough type with prickles.
You can see I've removed the bottom inch of leaves to reveal some roots
Seems in pretty far, but as it soaks up some water and expands its leaves and starts growing , it should start looking more at home.
So... there we have it, as the sun was going down at silvers place... it was all said and done.
