Hi all hope the Easter weekend is seeing you all good , was going to go away for the weekend fossicking and some general duties at the farm but it's s no go 8.( somethings have come up and unfortunately it's a no go so i decided to build myself a new pick from scratch got myself a old disk plow from the farm and cut it up into sections

, then welded a pipe onto it to accommodate a handle

, and the other day i got myself a timber lathe and am I'm the middle of turning a piece of hardwood peg (courtesy of work lol lol) if it turns out good I'll get some more lol

Looking good!! Had my eyes open for a disc for a while, they used to be layin round everywhere . . . . . leaf springs arent as wide but suffice :)

It would be a good 5/6mm thick was pretty much unused because it was broken then rewelded .
Hi Ivo, nice pick best to put on handle linseed oil, You can get it at bunnings with the hardener in it, Do the handle about every 2/3 months,Will keep for ever,I do all my pick handles before i send them out, Ron.
 
Nice way to spend the weekend Ivo, will need to test it out on some farmed gold. ;)
