Couple of very amature night sky shots. The moon was actually a crescent moon. I dont enough about photo editing to take the glare away. The tree is illuminated by the camp fire, The other is something near and dear to us all.

Cheers, Tone

Photo from my South Australian holiday last month. This seagull would just not go away no matter how much we scared it off. Followed us for about 20 minutes trying to get our bait then gave up when it got nothing, we were about 40kms out

Nice work Tone, these shots are super hard to take. The #1 rule is a tripod, even then not easy. You also have a very bright object (Moon) and dark areas (Space) So you need to find a compromise to the amount of light let in. Keep it up as once it all comes together these shots look amazing.

This was one I did not so long ago, I was able to get 30 second exposures to get a lot more light in for the stars. But with 30s of time space moves a lot and you will see the stars start to blur a bit as well. I also did not have the moon to deal with otherwise I could never have got this shot FYI, thanks for sharing.

I usually put a polarised sunglass lens in front of the camera and find it works remarkably well.
