I just put pics up I was just wondering if anyone has seen similar ring please its in amazing condition I have had a jeweller look at it he said its brass dipped in gold but I'm not sure its 10.3 grams

Thanks grubstake its a signet ring design I notice its very similar to a Ballarat miners ring but I can't look it up says its not a safe site haha its Victoria museum but being the wheat sheaf symbol could mean a lot. The man who owned it had a huge wheat farm in NSW and would transport wheat and barley to Sydney on horse and cart being convict may have been given it they wouldn't want him having pure gold my pops brother said they often gave convicts brass dipped jewellery and they would get into trouble selling it finding out its just brass but either way its very unique find and Australia inside the band never seen that before

I found this very similar in looks as I mean gilding but this dates 1600 to 1750 I'd say mine would be a little newer maybe 1790 to 1880 as the hut was destroyed by huge fire in 1887
