You have to send me $1000.

Let me know if you do it again and you can start b-paying me

I'm waiting for tathdj to give his opinion on this before I comment more.

As I said before,
No Camping.
They are all pretty pi$$ed of about the damage to the area.
It is the small minority with no freaking respect for the land
that is making it hard for us folk's to enjoy the area.
.
I was up there week before last and the amount of rubbish, Poo Ticket's,
All the signage destroyed, Bloody Awefull.
.
Scratching around is still all good at this stage.

Only allowed to remove 10 Kilo's of ore for processing.
If you have a few 20 litre buckets of dirt, You would be
considered doing the wrong thing.

Hi all any decent spots to look out for at oallen ? Taking the young blokes there tomorrow with there homemade sluicey thingy and really wan them to get some to keep them interested.no specific spots just area :D :Y:

Hi Johnboy, try under and around the bridge a few meters or so above the waters edge, always produces a bit of colour. Theres gold on most of the river flats there but it it takes a bit of testing to find the better spots.
Also around the rock bars just upstream of the bridge although this area gets worked quite hard.

Good luck mate, hope you get some.
Mick

up river from the bridge support large rock about 5-10 meters 1 meter back from the waters edge should be ok my last from there with a highbanker was 1.9g
if you are using a sluice the rapids should be flowing fast enough for you

I will be at Oallen about 9am, if you see a white Mitsubishi Triton that's me.

Very good day at Oallen, thanks to James.

Well had a great day with the young bloke . Mother got bogged and had to get towed out by a great guy and gal in a 4x4 found about 10 specs panning had the sluice running the rapids only had about 4 hours run time . So will have to wait to do the clean up and find out what we really got. Thanks all for the tips :Y:

Off to Oallen this weekend, found a few likely spots but wondering if it is worth going all the way through the gravel to check the bedrock? Thoughts?

Rivett,I am by no means an expert but I am pretty sure that the fine gold at O'allen is within the top foot of ground.Keep test panning as you dig to make sure you are still on the gold.Sorry that's all I have to offer.Hope this helps a little.

Cheers, that matches my experience. You think you're on to a good lead then the pans get light on... I will have to get a high bank set up so I stop carrying buckets of gravel to the river! I tried going to bedrock in a few spots but no results. Thanks.

So you found some colour GoldenRivett, pleased to hear it.Mate, unfortunately there is no highbanking allowed in NSW at the moment due to a ban.NAPFA is working on this on our behalf.Maybe get yourself a river sluice for now.

when i was banking up there i was going down to at least a meter where i could and always came home with at least 1g if not more
so if you were to ask me i would say to keep on digging
after there are floods it get hit very hard up around the rocks
i dig around the south side of the old bridge and have never been disappointed
i have seen so many people dig down about a foot and then spread out from there making a 6 foot round hole at only a foot down
so all that is under that is safe from them
IMO only up there if there is gold down to a foot then there is gold down to 3 foot
