So does this mean that the Dja Dja Wurrung PEOPLE along with other party's will be wanting for all the forests to be ((( reinstated ))) to there ((original condition)) as before our settlement, therefore the filling in and leveling of all shafts mines and diggers holes plus deleting all the tracks back to veg and the filling of all old dams that at present provide water to the wildlife in VIC, plus replanting of native vegetation as it was before white man established this country as it is today.Imagine the cost of such a project,it would be massive. If outing us all goes ahead one would hope we unite to give these people back exactly WHAT THEY WANT ,their forests as they had them a million years ago and birthing trees.Just a thought(ouch).LOL. ..PS.. And also make the GOVERMENT do it as they make mine leasee's have to, meaning don't touch this tree and that tree and measure saplings and leave those grass's and ribbon off all work areas, blah blah blah.

There is ZERO chance of undoing the past from yesterday or a 1000 years ago,but still the squeaky wheel gets the oil :N:

Insanity

Heatho is spot on.
Unfortunately existing use rights don't extend to the bush which is a real shame or I'd put every ounce of energy into fighting anyone with changes in mind.

As I've always said old Mother nature will conjure up forces we cannot put a candle to....erosion, tidal swell, earthquakes, lightening, fire, drought, flood, fire, and eruptions. Then she generously gives ten fold, where this one tree there will soon be ten. She understands balance, abundance one year, harsh restrictions the next, but her cycles all end in positive advancement. She's designed all her children to be tough, and those that aren't give way to those that adapt.
I could dig and chop and grade and pull out all I like, she'll adapt and reclaim behind me. That uncovered hole stores water, a seed, or a rock for an insect. Dam her water way, she will punch right through it. Erect a pile she will smash it down and level it out. Clear a path and she will cover it. Put us prospectors under the microscope all you like, Mother nature laughs at anyone standing in her way. It's ridiculous to imagine ecoscapes so fragile humans cant enter and alter her domain so much she won't put it all back in place, or rearrange it to please her needs. We aren't miners, We are not allied and mechanized or methodical, it's like the rabbit and the turtle, she's always in the race, even when we rest.

So shut us down, move us out, marginalise the few that truly care about giving her a hand and thanking her for her bounty. And when the green leaning boffins take over she will show no mercy or heed your direction, she will give and take as she always has, long before we were here, and long after we are gone.

I shall remain a custodian of the lands I spend time in. No law rules above the one I observe, natural law, sow, reap, harvest. I won't be looking at it on the TV, or at old photos. I'll be out there as I've always been in the cold, the heat, whilst these misguided wanna bes sit in their homes and offices gloating how the changed it all for the better. I don't answer to them, only to her.

Cheers.

And that there ^^^gets my vote, for post of the year!!! :Y: :Y: :Y:

Nature has been here a lot longer than any human ever has, and will continue on, long after any trace of humans cease to exist :)

She's a bewdy!!

Politicians? Well that's not for this forum is it ;)

A random quote "when injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty!"

I hope some common sense comes into play with what's going on, and also that the people charged with the duty and privilege of "working" for the people take note of the world around them and either wake up or step down.

Pipe dreams?, maybe, but ya gotta dream ay

Yep, very misguided people making decisions for minorities that affect majorities, it's an unfortunate direction this country and in fact the world has been heading for a long time now and only getting worse.
I won't be letting it stop my recreational hobby's that's for sure, just means I'll have to lock the hubs in and get further away from their prying eyes ;)

It's all a direct result of a larger agenda. Before I sound like a nutter all I say is there are people that want to herd you, round you up, observe you, take away whatever individual instinctive thoughts you may have, control your movements and what you do, what you see and what you think about it. Turn on any screen and observe under this assumption, and you'll soon see what I mean.

These are very dangerous paths to tread, it's already being embedded into education. Any way make sure you teach and tell your kids and others about the land and the bush, spend time there, there's no better place than there too unlock the chains they wish to put on you.

That's the last thing I'll say about it sorry to be off topic.
Cheers.

OldGT.thankyou so much for what you have written here on this topic. I agree 100% with what you say. For me as an ex army veteran who has served this country overseas I will not be letting anyone tell me where and what I can do in the country I put my life on the line for. Mother Nature will always triumph over mans attempts to manage it. My children will grow up to respect the bush and enjoy it...not just learn about it from the classroom.

l agree with you as well OldGT, l do not really think that this is
about the destruction of the bush. There is a bigger agenda, they want to limit peoples options and move people to large citys. l think the Aboriginals are just being used as an excuse to lock up the land. The suggestion of fencing the bush off and putting Dingoes back into the bush, is another idea to shut off the bush to the people.

Let's not mention the pine plantations grown on State Forest land leased from the Government and the irreparable damage done to the historical and archaeological record with all the large-scale logging and ripping.

Around Creswick the pines are now on second or third or so rotation in areas which the State Aerial Survey maps from the early 1950's showed the State Forest being almost all native at that time. Yet 70 years of pine growth and harvesting has trashed large areas of the former State Forest.

As is apparent by the abundance of gorse, blackberry and pine wildings in the Creswick Regional Park (carved out of the former Creswick State Forest), Parks Victoria does very little to eradicate these infestations. As one Parks employee told me they prefer to wait for a controlled burn or bushfire to deal with the problem.

Perhaps the Government should get its own house in order first and address the misuse, abuse and mismanagement of the land it currently leases out and has control/responsibility for managing before telling citizens where they can and cannot go and what they can and cannot do.

I can see a reason why the greenies are wanting to stop prospecting. I went prospecting in Maryborough last week and the amount of holes not filled in is ridiculous. There is clearly a lot of people doing the wrong thing. It is not even hard or time consuming to do so.

Also, I visited the Welcome Stranger site in Moliagul with the family and saw a guy in the protected historic reserve with a detector and shovel. When he saw us he got in his car and sped off in a hurry. Clearly he knew he wasn't allowed there.

This has been going on for some time now with the VEAC council posting the initial draft document over the next 2 weeks. If you put in submissions that address the criteria of the investigation and provide some info on how you will improve the land management by your presence in the areas under investigation, and how if you were banned from prospecting it would only be worse for the area. Also the topic has been partially covered in

https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=22706

Address their criteria, and say how it will improve the area by having you there, that is the winning strategy. Ken.

lt is the United Nations that want you out of the bush and large amounts of bush locked up. It is a world wide agenda. The Australian government agreed to operate under Agenda 21 in 1992.lt was never a democratic process to join Agenda 21 or Ecological Sustainability, is another name for it.The Rio Declaration is another part of it.The greens are all for it though. Our government is just doing what the United Nations tells them now.The Australian Constitution is no longer relevant in an era of globilisation.

So right after they blow sunshine up their behinds about how they are sensitive to correct management of parks they..............

Suggest introducing non native plants into Victorias forests as a way of dealing with climate change.

:D

They talk about picks disturbing the soil and I presum suggest that picks bring in some soil from other areas and that soil, essentially, COULD BE POISON!!!

Not like the wheels on their vehicles, 4x4s, motorbikes and pushies do the same thing.

Campers dig firepits also....even roos dig the ground up.

I've read some of this report and it is a bit ridiculous that these people are preying on the stupid minds of people in government who cannot think laterally or objectively and getting away with it!

Eco- socialist .. better know as greens are out to create their vision of utopia ..
They are a bit like the Ludites of the early industrial revolution smashing machines and trying to prevent progress in manufacturing..
In a way they have acheived the first stage with the destruction of Australias manufacturing industries and the demonization of the mining industry and all with the help of the socialist workers coopratives also known as unions.

Bingo sulphide.

I love seeing the solidarity here over this issue. Let's not forget why State forests were established in the first order, to enable free public access to the land and resources within it for everyone. And I mean everyone.

The rewriting of history, reinterpreted legislation and acts, exclusion, and reclassification are just the same agenda on many fronts. I don't for one second look down on any user group entering tge bushland, and for the sake of all urge you to do the same.

Making us all responsible users of the bush is of course still the right course of action, illegal dumping, unapproved resource extraction, and destruction of sensative areas is to be discouraged and rectified. But champion the hunters, shooters, 4x4 groups, rally event organizations, motorbike riders, timber harvesters, bushwalkers, cyclists, birdwatchers, prospectors, and campers. If you start pushing any of the groups out, one more voice is lost to the cause to upend this malignant and dangerous agenda. You don't have to like or support them, but you shouldn't take steps to discourage them. We can, and we should, ALL be enjoying it as fellow users, and as a united front against all those wanting to exclude us all.

I've spent many hours talking and discussing with incumbent Politicians about this and it is so low on their radar as a collective, or they are so brainwashed by the green enviro movement, they seldom wish to even entertain the thought of joining the cause let alone lending support. So it's up to you.

Point out the flaws, work with the existing management where possible, make your presence known both during the time you are there and online, and educate (not dictate) to others who are unaware what is happening. Many grass root challenges and changes have defeated opposition before, and I don't for one second believe that the vast majority of the populace in and around these areas want everyone shut out.

Good luck out there.

Cheers.

P.S. If anyone knows any sympathetic ears in the print media inbox details please. I do plan to sit and submit some content to encourage some ground swell of opposition. If my voice is to low to be heard then I intend to make the collective conversation a loud one.

You do some well thought out posts OldGT. l agree totally with responsible use of the bush, by all recreational users. lt is the best place in the world for your mental health.Yes the government has sold us out big time, they spend 100s of millions each year implemeanting agenda 21.lt dictates what they teach our kids in schools. Control of our food sources.Control of our crown lands and private lands.Population control.lt is supported by both labour and Liberal and the greens.lt is no conspiracy theory.Pauline Hanson has spoken of it. Ann Bressington was a big opponent of agenda21.lt is about total control of the planet.5G rollout is part of it, totally bad for our health.Plenty of information about it all on the internet. Good luck getting a sympathetic ear in the print media OldGT.They wont keep there job long, unless they are independent.

Diggit, l will still be prospecting in these areas after the ban as well. But as l always do, l will be filling my holes in.

sulphide,

I intend to be met with some or complete resistance with any national or syndicated newspapers, but perhaps I can get something substantial in local ones. I was thinking more like hunting, shooting, 4x4 and fishing magazines. Most media is accessed online but I think a well placed article in the right place is the key to inform and garner support of numbers. Framed the right way, I believe common decent people would at least lend support in principle.

Lobby groups have so far been dissapointed and thwarted. I wish I had the time to play the long game and try for some position/s on a collective council or organization( EG Veac) but I guess I have to just remain a humble user fighting the good fight where I can.

I suspect anyone who gets any real teeth will be marginalized quite quickly. But I'm an optimist at heart. It is our land to fight for after all, it should be everyones!
