Looking for a fossicking mentor

Hello I am currently studying mineralogy at university but seeking to ditch the books for experience (where ever that may be)
That is why I'm looking to "work" for/with someone with knowledge and experience who is willing to show me the ropes, the lifestyle, the whole kit and kaboodle.
(I am after work experience not money per se)
Details can be discussed more in depth if someone shows interest.
