Hello...
I'm new to this site & need advice.
My young boys 10 & 11yo have an interest like me in geology, rocks & gems . And would like to start fossicking.
Though l have no idea where to start? I went on ebay to find them a detector....
Though have no idea what to purchase for them & myself to use.
We live near Lowmead in Queensland.
Would love advice on what is needed to start

Hi robo, not sure a detector will be any help looking for gems. I would be looking at getting some gem fossickers books and maps along with good picks and shovels.

I am from Alaska don't believe the shows very scripted . Alaska is awesome I think Australia would be more awesome . I am kinda new to prospecting With a metal detector started in October 2017 with a whites gmt.i have dredged sluiced and highbanked though 2015 ish
