I could imagine there will be a few detectorists ready to get out and about with all that hot weather on its way. Chest deep in the water is probably a good place to be over the next week or so chasing some gold rings. Which scoop are you using?

It's a custom made which I got with the X-terra 705...I will get a picture when I can..

Really glad to see the back end of 2019, it was an okay year but not detecting much had been a big of a downer... A couple of digs to end the year produced coins and a few rings so I am happy that I managed to get out for some fun.

Hallmarks are tiny and worn but 99% sure it's a silver ring.

There's around another $30 and a opal pendent which I never photographed and that's the end of 2019.

:Y:

Coming later today 2020 and what a great way to start of the year. :D :goldnugget:

Cracker start to the year mate. I should hopefully be back at it in a few weeks, your finds are getting me primed up for it. :Y:

Geez you're good mate, I haven't even posted my 2020 finds yet and you already know they're cracking haha :D

My wife just salivated over that pendant (at least I think it was the pendant). I reckon it's a cracker. She said, 'Find me one like that please,' which is all the excuse I need. Off to beach now!

The first day of 2020 gave a few surprises, wasn't alot of coins around as I would have anticipated and with alot more people with detectors it means early bird catches the goldies. One couple I met earlier on in the week were swinging away with a brand new out of the box Equinox 800. I stopped for a chat and noticed nothing was set up on the detector so I tuned it all in for them and gave them a few pointers then went on my way.
Twas a double gold morning and 2020 looks to have started off well.

The beaches here everywhere were packed so I will be out again tomorrow morning with my son Abraham.
Until next time Happy detecting and Happy New Year 2020.

Ok mate, misread the dates, hmmm now definitely off to a cracking start. :p

Saturday I went out for a few hours and another detectorist was swinging away but I moved further along the beach, wasn't much to collect but I did manage to get a Pandora and a few coins.

Sunday was very much different, it was scattered light rain which meant there wasn't anyone around, Abraham was with me and did the 4 hour detecting slog. A few coins around and a free dinner on the cards for my big boy. KFC! One spot I abandoned had lots of good targets that were sitting on a clay layer, the reason I left them was because of all the rocks under the sand, I shall revisit that spot at the beginning of my next dig.

It's very smoky here from the fires but that won't stop me from getting out for a swing.
Until next time happy detecting.
Cheers Gda :D :Y:

Nice work. Good little silver (I assume) Pandora ring. Did that ring from your Sunday hunt have a stone in it originally do you think?

Yes probably a garnet, it's a very crude vintage junker ring. :Y: And yup Pandora silver, they're a dime a dozen.

Water detect yesterday with my son Abraham never produced much, it's a very popular beach but it's very shallow at the moment due to sand being topped up and washed out at the moment.
Saw another detectorist Adam who happened to be Dustin's - gold rat highbanker cousin. He was using a go find 66...nice bloke.
