Uluru/Ayers rock is the largest Monolith in Australia, and the world. Mount Augustus and Uluru/Ayers rock are both "Inselbergs", Mount Augustus being much bigger than Ayers rock. However, only Ayers rock is a Monolith, Augustus is a Monocline.

Yes, Monolith is a bare rock like Uluru, a monocline like Mt Augustus has vegetation.

Which kind of mine is the largest of its kind in South Australia?
Whilst the opals are mined by thousands of small miners but as a single mine Roxby is the largest mine which is gold, copper and Uranium in SA don't show a large open cut for an example.

I like snakes, but I must confess that once I get out of Victoria and the eastern states they start to become a mystery to me. Think I'd have to read up and wear double gaiters before I crossed the border :argh:
