I was using a trial set of hearing aids the other day and was detecting using a booster and dual speakers. What I found was that the sound was extremely distorted. I was very disappointed as I was hoping that it would have improved what I was hearing.
Has anyone else found the same problem. I imagine that the sound is being amplified by both the booster and the hearing aids which is causing the distortion.
As the hearing aids would cost me approximately $7000 if I go ahead and buy them I'd like some input if this is normal or should I look at other brands.

Jeese BP,... you must be hearing the shapes of the nuggets with all that going on,.. I can't help you, but, we can put the call out mate. :)

I think adjusting the tone of the detector to a frequency that best suits your hearing range and using the booster will get you better results. Alternatively turn down the detector volume to a level that doesn't distort the hearing aids microphone. Or better still use headphones.

No real easy answer to this one, m8ight take a bit of testing to get the best results.

Hi Pete,

Same as you, poor hearing got hearing aids and have exactly the same when using them detecting.

I now use a set of linear headphones (the ones that go in your ears and are connected by a flexi tube under your chin.

I then plug them into the booster and can control the volume to a comfortable level without the need of the hearing aids.

Works an absolute treat, just finished a very successful trip at western creek.

I am using a B&Z booster and I like it but I think I'll just take the hearing aids off when detecting as the sound was quite distracting. I absolutely hate headphones of all descriptions as they make my ear lugs so sore.
Another worry I had with the hearing aids was if I brushed against a tree branch and one got flicked off I would probably never find it again or if I saw where it went it would be down a deep shaft.

Pete I wear aids too mate. They are a real pain in the ..... My aids caused feed back with the headphones on, but if I visited the specialist and she tweeked the aids, it caused them to not amplify as they should have. My answer.......I take em off, turn up the headphone volume and alls sweet. But I dont have a booster.

I have just discovered same problem so will just take them off detecting. I thought they would be a real bonus. GPZ7000 with B&Z with twin speakers or standard minelab headphones.

I just take mine out,

Problem is I leave them in the car, then get told off from not wearing them,

Must amit my world is quieter

Goody :)

My hearing aids have Bluetooth. So I plug a Bluetooth sender unit to my detector and have the sound from the detector playing in my aids and I can still hear normal sounds.

For those getting distortion, make sure your Volume Limit is turned down (if your detector has one). This helps to keep target signals at a more uniform level.

The Wazza Eye Spy does work - but you do loose abit of depth replacing sound to light

You could Try using different tones, if your detectors allows
