Has anybody had success detecting the greater Gaffney's Creek area? ie, Woods Point, Kevington, A1 Mine Settlement ect.
For myself it's a lot closer and familiar than the GT.
Picked myself up a GPX 4000 and keen to put in some swing time.

If your serious about the area Buy this book - https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=33036

dame good read!

Beautiful spot to camp all along there too.. was rich ground and goat country, ive pinged bloody horse shoes on terraces *hint* out that way you'd swear it was impossible to get up... awesome place to learn the history and locals to boot. Good chance of getting some dry wood off the german spur track (place was littered with bootlegers and pubs back in its day).

Back in the day it used to cost twice the price to haul loads from Jamieson to woods point as it did from Melbourne to Jamieson to give a idea of the terrain back in the day before cut tracks.... those buggers back in the day were tough as nails!

Hands down one of my favorite places in Vic. Will have to check out that book!
Have you had success detecting around there or just a lot of relics?
