Hi all,I'm new here so i hope this is ok. Can anyone give me an idea what I have here? Half pink and half clear gemstone from CQLD gemfields. I cant find any info or similar stones on the internet only that it might be called a bi-colored gemstone (from a bi-colored tourmaline) and I'm kinda hoping it might be rarer than your average sapphire... hopefully:) Any ideas would be appreciated. Thx

Probably a topaz , specific gravity test will let you know , around 3.50 .if not a nice sapphire , not sure they get much topaz there but looks sorta like one , depending where you got it , hard to tell from photo .

Hi Bill.

You can't really tell anything definitively from a photo but my guess is probably a zircon. I have found a few out there with that pinkish-orange on one end, fading to near colourless at the other, usually the colourless end is thinner. If not, probably a sapphire, though it does look a tad unusual. How big is it? If it's big enough to facet, I'd probably get it tested.
