Hi all, what a great forum we have here!
My name is Steve, I live on the northside of Brissie, but prepared to travel day trips, overnighters or weekenders.
I am new to the panning and metal detecting game. I would love to go on some trips with any of you who are interested in sharing some basic knowledge, im happy to do the driving and use my car for great day out.
I have been doing a great deal of research on old mines, permitted and prohited, mineral breakdowns of areas, property boundaries on remote and regional locations etc. I have read up on the Gympie fossicking area and it appears that is not the original creek(s) where gold was found as that is now under the town centre essentially, however, I am more than happy to scout, explore and learn on local ground or campable locations.
As they say in the fishing world, "all the gear and no idea"
