Black Spinel - cutting options and are large ones rare?

I think Spinel is way under rated and under priced as a gemstone, it's great stuff. Gotta stop tossing it away when the Sapphs are coming thick and fast. smile

Agreed. It polishes up very nicely.

Though I do have to say that for black stones, the amphibole (we think) I cabbed took on a polish that I though was hard to beat. But black spinel is right up there as well I reckon.
