Planning a trip to Barraba mid October....do a bit of crevicing .....any info on campsites and creeks etc would be welcome.....go the sharks...William

I've heard Three Creeks gold mine is a great spot to have a go.

From pictures looks like nice nuggets been there too.Anyone tried a detector over there?!

No detecting there unfortunely (I'm pretty sure), just panning, also panning the mine tailings too I think. I'd love to get a detector on there. Give them a call to see what you can do there, you just never know.

They used to run a 2 day prospecting course using the Whites GMT detector & their panners mate. Not sure if they still do or if they allow detecting now?
I've sent them an email requesting some info out of my own curiosity but will post anything I get back here.

Got a reply back today. Unfortunately no detecting on the lease.
Camping is $15/night.

Disappointing
It would be a great alternative for non-flyable days.I do paragliding in summertime in Manilla and this place is just couple of km north.
Might check it around their lease.
