Here's a few pictures of some cool rocks I've picked up around my parents farm inbetween Yass and crookwell
Historical mines in the area for gold silver copper tin bismuth platinum. Just about everything really.

Rock with quartz veins?

Is this iron ore? Picked it out with a metal detector and it looks melted

This is the same type of white quarts in the 1st pic but has a vein of someting that set off the detector.

Talk of a geology subforum inspired me to post these pics. What can anyone tell me about them. Posting from the road on my phone hope it works properly.

first one crush him see if it has gold the second first thought was meteorite but it looks like slag maybe has silver look nice find maybe some thing good the second one ;)

Man made slag or is there a natural slag? Theres heaps of it around so its definitely not a meteorite.
Also a whole valley on the side of a hill full of soccer ball sized quarts like pic 3

Theres a good chance of silver on the property but not much information on silver fossicking out there. I've still get a lot of learning to do.

To me it looks like an ironstone or magnesite type mineral. Could have come out of a big black conglomerate alluvial mabey. The first image is an interesting one mate. Reminds me of Alexandra type ground. I always crush and pan a sample from the rocks of unknown origin / identity to see what hides inside.
