    Help in identifying stone

Hi guys, Hubby was chatting to one of our neighbours and mentioned that we go fossicking. The neighbour handed him this large stone and asked if I could try and find out what it is. He didn't think to ask where he found it or any other details unfortunately. It is quite large - 5-7cm and...

Question about detecting for gold. (Aldi detector)

I know I only have the cheapie Aldi detector and I'm sure results vary wildly from detector to detector, but out of curiousity, what sort of sized piece of gold would you need to run over with the Aldi detector to get a ping? Not having any proper gold to test, I have no idea. Is it worth...

    Aldi Adventuridge Metal Detector

Ok we gave it a quick run today (15 mins) while out at Mitchell's creek. I had the kids with me so couldn't go exploring too far. It seems to be decent. Picked up a reasonably accurate location. I found loads of bottle caps, bits of steel etc lmao. I didn't expect to find any gold because we...

    $99.99 Detectors at Aldi

I'm going to grab one! We're in the bush often enough, its worth giving it a go. :) Aldi stuff is usually pretty decent quality, so I'm happy to spend $100 on one. :)

    Aldi Adventuridge Metal Detector

Can anyone tell me whether the Aldi metal detector advertised is any good for gold prospecting? Just for a basic starter?? it says LCD display and waterproof coil, 3 operation modes: all metal, disc and notch, 18cm sensitivity, 3 tone indicator, 6.6khz frequency would it be an okay starter???

What is the stuff that looks exactly like gold.. but isn't?

Thanks. :) Yeah we found a little teeny piece and just watching the way it acted in water compared to the light stuff I figured it's not gold. Let the kids keep it though so they are happy having some 'gold' in a bottle

    Minimum stone size to cut

When you say not to send over large precious stones, how large are we talking? I have about a 3ct saph that I think will cut up nicely, would you send that over, or go local? Cheers

What is the stuff that looks exactly like gold.. but isn't?

Hi all, made it out to Tuena and then headed on to Oberon. Did a few pans at Tuena and there was a few flakes in there that looked just like gold. The kids got all excited, but from the other small gold specks I have sitting in a jar, I know it just doesn't move when you swish it about. These...

    G1 Highbanker and flour Gold

Can you show me a picture of what a G1 is please? Hubby is going to build a highbanker of some description soon, but more than likely we will make it the same as WalnLiz's one - the one he has a video of. Does anyone have any recommendations?

hahaha. the kids make the racket without being asked. they are 5 and 7, so not so small I'd worry about them rolling down the bank or anything.
