    Gold Coast detecting/panning

G'day all, So I took my GT16000 out on Sunday around the Southport area on the Gold Coast, heard rumours there was an old gold mine around there, western side of the M1, went into a dry creek, looks like it was flooded in the last bout of heavy rain down here as some of the trash washed up in...

    Some photo's from last trip.

I really don't think I could go in Oldfella, even with safety gear, think I'd struggle to breathe, little dramatic I know. When I went to Tassie a few years back, went to the Beaconsfield mine, did the walk around in there and had a look at the replica of Todd and Brant's little enclosure, it...

First Detector (Minelab GT16000) and first finds

The similarities ate remarkable Goldpick, I'd like to weigh mine :) seems like a fairly common looking design, but, as you said, any silver is good silver :)

    Todays hunt results.

Love seeing what you have found, I am going to have a look at my Nans place some time soon, she has a very old house in the dead centre of Ipswich CBD. Love the capgun as well, in great condition too, well done!

First Detector (Minelab GT16000) and first finds

Hah, might pay for itself in coin! :) he did show me how far it will detect, quite impressive really. Thank you for that tip, Would not have thought to mark my trail, i will also be mindful to not lift at the end of my swing, wouldn't have thought of that either. The seller did tell me it...

First Detector (Minelab GT16000) and first finds

Hi all, I got my very first detector a couple of days before Christmas, it is a Minelab GT16000, it is old I am aware, not sure how old, it cost $390 all up, that is a little more than what I could afford but the guy I got it from spent a good solid 2 hours showing me how to operate it (all air...
