    Minelab Safari, or Etrac

Hi Guys, After selling my MXT, and Xterra I am now missing those late night coin hunts I used to do when I couldn't get out on the gold. Interested if any forum members are selling their Safari or Etrac detectors in the near future before I sell some gold to pay for a brand new one? I am a...

Minelab Gold Monster 1000 tips and questions

Hi Everyone, Just returned from two weeks in far north WA with the new GM, and well.........mmmmmmmm........let's just say it stayed in the car most of the trip. I'm not a detector reviewer, there are better people at that than me, but if you're thinking of buying one to do those creeks you...

Minelab Gold Monster 1000 tips and questions

Thanks Grubstake. As I am not a great reviewer of detectors, if there is any test you want me to do to see how the GM handles our red dirt let me know? I was just going to run it in the creek, the same creek that does my head in with the 4500 because of old timer rubbish. I did pull out a 12...

Hi Guys, Long time no post, but I am off on a 2 week trip in the far north of WA. Taking with me a 4500, SDC and the new GM 1000. I'll post up a video in 3 weeks, so stay tuned. Can't Wait GD

    Yalgoo WA detecting

Hi, Spent a bit of time out that way this year. Like any old gold town really, full of iron rubbish and retired caravanner's. Few spots east worth looking at. A lot of fine gold, match head sized stuff, Bill And Udo are based in Cue. GD

    Whites detectors compared to others.

With the AUD the way it is, Whites, Garrett and Fisher detectors will cost more than Minelab soon. I think the Whites V3i is the best coin shooter on the market, and the GPX5000 the best gold detector, but that's just me. I'm not brand loyal. I wouldn't get too caught up on brands, just get...

    Australian Fisher dealers?

I'm going to go as far as saying; Do not put a large deposit down, and definitely do not pay in full before you receive your new purchase. If the dealer doesn't have stock, that's not your problem, you are not there to help finance their next shipment. I buy large custom equipment frequently...

    Australian Fisher dealers?

Geez Grubstake, that's no good. Thanks for the heads-up. Fisher need to get their dealer situation together, as it might be far better off to buy direct from the USA. GD

    Australian Fisher dealers?

Hi All, People in Tassie have a checkered past here in WA. Under a different name, and selling a different brand. Actually I think there has been a post on here regarding that. Gold Hunter detectors were very helpful. Recommended. Thanks for the info, waiting on a Gold Bug 2 GD

Minelab GPX5000 tips, settings and questions

Have you tried swapping coils amongst yourselves to rule out a faulty coil? I have had coil connection problems with mine in the past, which is a common problem, maybe give the lead a wiggle to see if it plays up. Other than that, send it to Minelab. GD

Nothing to do with me, no way I could be bothered writing something that long winded. Sounds like rubbish to me; Minelab GPX 4500 Gold Detector WARNING! on Gumtree http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/1087460480

    pin pointing

Good point Wal. I would take the magnet over the pin pointer any day. Now, If someone could make a magnet for lead I'd be a happy camper. I'm just about to open a used bullet and Geo Tags shop :D GD

    pin pointing

I wouldn't go prospecting without one. I've had my Whites TRX for 2 years, and think those that say not to use a pin pionter probably don't own a good one. The first Garrett pin pointers interfered with GPX detectors something shocking, even when the pin pointer was turned off. Minelab's pin...

    Whites SPP Upgrading Batteries?

Forget the above. Read the review by KarlS in the same thread, 1 .5 hours run time Pfffttt that is terrible. I'll stick with bulk buying AA disposables.

    Whites SPP Upgrading Batteries?

Bumping an old thread, But, I'm thinking of trying some NiZn Powergenix rechargeable batteries for my cameras. Not bad because they have a claimed 1.6 voltage output. Will up the voltage for the SPP, and reasonably priced...
