    Wild dogs and prospecting

Had this happen many many times, Especially when i have my gun-dogs with me while contracting on dog-trapping jobs. Some of my closest encounters have been full blown terratorial charges, usually from the blindside and only ended with bullets resulting in a dead dog at my feet. Id post pics to...

Regulators for each and the battery bank is approx 300 ex-telstra 150Ah repeater station batteries which I have a virtually unlimited access to replacements. I have no idea what...

What do you when the power goes out

You guys should live in cyclone country and check out how some of the places up here are setup. Conversely, its always fun to watch those who have become complacent raiding supermarkets and coles, once they hear a big blow is on the way :D For us, we are permanently off grid and have multiple...

What has the Nox found here?

Holy thread revival batman.... but i was obliged to comment because for once i actually know what i am looking at! Manpa and mbasko are onto it. It is one half of a Phosphor bronze bushing, this one in particular was half of a headstock spindle bushing from a myford ml7 metal lathe. This was...

    Learning Curve NOX800

Cheers Smokey, i figured that would give a few blokes some memories, if not nightmares. I hadnt thought about rings Dave, will have to keep digging them for now until I can learnt to tell em apart. Yeah Makka, just a pile of rubbish there but was excited to share what it represents in...

    Learning Curve NOX800

Well, after advice on here i picked up a NOX800 to start my prospecting education. Figured id share my collection of worthless rubbish. Another what to buy thread.... sorry. CAIRNS

I think i like this hobby.... half hour run-down on the NOX800 with a mate (using a garret AT gold?) on how to run it, then into it. Target was gold coins on my local smallish private residents onlyish beach. $104 in just under an hour. Beach mode with everything but 19-25 blocked...

Another what to buy thread.... sorry. CAIRNS

Yep, lots of licenses, paperwork, applications, qualifications and justifications to make sure it is all legitimate. We specialise in a lot of high risk contracts requiring specialist equipment and methodologies. Especially when it comes to doing helicopter shooting in semi-suburban environments...

All good ctxkid. You are right, there are other platforms for that. I forget that not everyone deals with these sorts of things daily and as such have no need to be exposed to it. Hopefully a mod sees this shortly and can ammend accordingly. In on topic news, i should be able to have my first...

Another what to buy thread.... sorry. CAIRNS

Understood, Best take em down then mate. I didnt realise i couldnt self moderate after a certain timeframe. I got caught upwith the OT chat and thought, perhaps mistakenly, that prospectors being fellow bush users would be sympathetic to the ecological and financial damage these pest animals...

Sorry 227Dick, it appears my attempt at sarcasm and humour did not convey correctly on this medium. I was trying to underhandely acknowledge everyone taking the time to reply with their recommendations for the 4500 or similar. :Y: I just came back from a quick trip into see Pete @ Cairns...
