I agree with 1 out of 100 targets, I only don't understand these people that post on facebook, they go out for couple of hours and come back with a dozen of nuggets, it is just me to be unlucky or these people are full of sh....t. :)
I never used the discrimination on the GPX, now I have a GPZ, I prefer to dig every signal, for me is the only way to be sure if is gold or something else. I don't mind to dig, is part of the fun, the anticipation. So no I don't miss the discrimination on my detector.
Congrats on your choice, my wife had a 705 for couple of years and had a lot of fun, just recently we upgrade to an SDC2300, now you have a serious machine, so be patient and do a lot of research, gold will come, good luck.
I have noticed for long time that I am more productive in the morning, if I don't find something in the first two/three ours, I know that will be a disappointing day, especially in the hot months after lunch I keep on going but with less energy and less enthusiasm.
I only use a BZ booster and speakers, I hate headphones and even more to be attached to the metal detector with wires, and I don't think I miss much, I found nuggets 0.4, 0.6 of a gram. Even if I miss the fly shit I am not worry.
Personally I never spend any time on the mulloch heaps, there is so much ground to be covered and morally for me they are the history of this country and I don't like to ruin them, also like grubstake said if there is something is in the metal detector range I swing a 7000 and I found nuggets...
I tried to contact them via email and sent massages on their website, they never replay to me, I was just asking if they can make me an harness without battery pouch and pick holder, maybe they are not interested.
I am looking to make my own harness because I am not very happy with the one that come with the 7000, and the harness on the market are too expensive, I need something light but strong, with the d rings for the bungy and the speaker, the one that DD make is not bad, but using a 7000 I don't need...
