Well I started work on a sluice last year. It was pretty sad looking. Here is a pic...

The frame was holding the mesh in and it would fall out all the time. Soo i never used it..

Had some time this arvo so took the time to create this.

The plan is to eventually fit some kind of hopper to the top. Plumbing for pump or mandraulic pump to mahe a rocker box come hibanker

The sluice is about 550 - 600 long with a 300 slicker plat. The hopper as stands is about 450 long with some rubber matting. The mesh is aluminium off cut. The angle is 30deg. I think the props will fail but its temporary. Hope to be able to set it in a creek and shovel direct onto it.. oneday

Hey tone where did you score the expanded mesh from?
i cant find any anywhere. the only places i have found can only get it in by the sheet.

I was given a small piece of the large catwalk. The small type is aluminium which I found at a place that make ute trays etc. From the scrap bin..

Cheers, Tone

Gday again, well I got to work on the RockerBanker, well thats what I am calling it anyway.

Still need to finish of the hopper/feeder box and attach the pump and pipes, (see my post regarding plumbing in general)

Have to finish it tomorrow, as I need to take it out next week! Finally...

The base is an old BBQ that has been taking up space in the Man Lab.. the frames morphing into a Mitre Saw/Chop Saw stand.. more on that later.

Anyway, the pictures are a bit rough, I will get some better ones tomorrow when it is done.

The bar in the middle is some Reo corners cut and welded to a steel rod, Thanks Kemjak57 and Gold Miner! ;)

The idea is the rocker sits on the bar and the pump will be attached to the base, handle will be attached to the rocker via a control arm so when you operate the pump, it rocks the box...

Great stuff mate, look forward to seeing it in action! I may just know a good spot ;)

Well I finally got the Rockerbanker together.

Here are some pics, bear in mind it is still a prototype and I will be tweaking a few things over the next couple of days as I test it in the field.

I have used some hose clamps to secure the unit to the frame, I made the support for the pump out of some merbu decking I had laying in the manlab.

The bucket was the best option for the feeder/hopper, it accepts any standard sieve, I will be starting out with 1/4" and see how it goes, may need to use a 1/2 inch.

I can see the frame getting cut away at the outflow end, its going to jam with rocks, I think the wide expaneded will go also for more of the small mesh.

I also need to device an easy way to remove the sluice tray for clean outs.. and the hopper /feeder will eventually become self cleaning grizzley set up.

Anyway, feedback is welcome.

Cheers, Tone
