In the Bathurst area Panning with the kids

Hi all. Hope that you are all well. I have bought the kids to the Bathurst area for a few days and took then to Sunny Corner for a bit of panning today. We hit mitchels creek for a few colours and then took them out to Hill End to see the historical township and another bit of panning at the fossicking area just up the road from there.

Just wanted some input for tomorrows adventures. Should we hit Sunny Corner again and try Bobs creek or head for Sofala and Wattle flats. Or is there a better place that we could go to get some more colours in the kids pans.

Kool., do you have a 4x4?

Coles Bridge, Turondale always produces colour. Pretty good chance I could meet you there. :goldpan:

Im a little slow getting moving this morning. Not enough coffee in the world it seems.
Im getting into gear and Im going to head up there in the next hour or so.
My prospecting gear is already packed just gotta grab my swag and esky and sort out some tucker.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to Aussiechris for showing us a few things today. The kids and I had an absolute ball. Will have to do it again sometime soon.

The 4x4 question was about Sunny Corner going on further till you hit the Upper Turon. Then follow on to Sofala.
Once you hit the intersection and turn left at the Turon, you are fine in most cars.
Untill you hit the gate. 4x4 after that.
If you turn right at the Turon instead, this will take you back to Capertee, via upper Turon gates rd. Pretty drive.
Fine with most cars with a bit of clearance, and no heavy rain of recent. Causeways etc.
"CAUSEWAY" signs have now had their name change to some othere stupid name!
I guess "DIP" will become "drop, rapid elevation decline, etc!

Another great day and another thank you to AussieChris. The kids had fun and we found some colour. Hope to get out this way again really soon.
