Yankee Gully Rd is really good for awd/2wd access, just don't take any side tracks.... You're better off parking (if you can find a spot) and walking. Just be very cautious of snakes, it's a pretty steep and overgrown area. Also very slippery after rain.
Second what golden times says. Stick to the main tracks. The side tracks can be ok but most of them are really rough and narrow. Once you drive down a bad track no room to turn around.
