Hey there @Skexis, i use a XP MI-4
Rechargeable and waterproof. Had no issues what so ever, simple to use also.
Only gripe id have is the top cap covering the charge points gets bloody tight and at times i need the mrs to undo it for me lol
edit: tried to take a pic...Cap was too tight and wife is at work. Sorry.

While these pinpointers are all waterproof to varying degrees, has anyone identified one that works OK underwater?
I use a Minelab propointer 35 and find its pretty much useless underwater.
Yes, any of the Pulse Induction ones work very well under water.

Nenad, thanks for that info, must admit I hadn't given any thought to VLF/PI differences. I guess that must mean the Profind is VLF techno;ogy
Yes here's a quick breakdown.
VLF Pin-pointers:
- Nokta Pointer (was 11.6, now 18.2 kHz)
- Minelab Pro-Finds (not listed, maybe 13.5kHz?)
- Quest Xpointer Max (9.5 kHz)
- Garrett Pro-Pointer AT (11.5 kHz)
- XP pin-pointers (12 kHz)
Pulse Pin-pointers:
- Nokta PulseDive (60m waterproof)
- Quest Xpointer Land (splashproof only)
- Quest Xpointer Pro (60m waterproof)
- Quest Xpointer II (5m Waterproof, just released)
- Quest Scuba Tectors (60m waterproof)
- Fisher F-Pulse (I've never used one in saltwater)

Another PI pinpointer is the Teknetics Tek-Point which is waterproof to a couple of metres.
I also like the fact it uses AA cells.

I have a Profind 15. Wasn't worth the money in my opinion. It just stays in the car mostly

I cant seem to find the Quest Xpointer II on your site yet. Is
it that new and if so do you have price and availability?
Hey Nenad, I see you have a couple of the Quest Xpointers on your site - the Pro & the Mark II.
Are both PI or just the Mark II ?
Have you had a go with them & does the PI stop falsing in high mineralisation as it should ?
Xpointer Pro is PI, has to be to be able to work underwater, and it's in the beefier housing and rated to 60m.
Xpointer II is also PI, but in the lighter Xpointer Max housing, so only rated to 5m.
Unfortunately both are out of stock at the moment. I got a couple of dealer orders which wiped me out. Even the cheaper Xpointer which is just splashproof is also PI.
The only Quest pin-pointer that isn't PI is the Xpointer Max, as that has the Iron ID feature.
I have always preferred the PI pin-pointers in mineralisation. Doesn't make all ground totally silent, but far more reliable than VLF pointers. If on the rare occasion you come across ground that is causing it to beep randomly, just drop the sensitivity one level and it's nice and quiet again.
Detect A Den, Top End Prospecting may have stock of the Xpointer Pro, and The Prospectors Depot got my last Xpointer II's.
