Hi all im barnabus from victoria
I would like to know if white gold is detectable by metal detectors ?

Welcome Barnabus. I do remember testing my wedding ring which has a large band of white gold and a band each side of that of yellow gold and it came up much harder to pick up than a full gold ring.
:p

Thanx guys
I've just bought a detector and i've only been to the beach once with it and to warrandyte as well , i'm just starting out and keen to get stuck into some serious prospecting .
Thank you all for answering my question

Gold and Platinum,.....starting at the top I see,...nothing wrong with that Barnabus(BB) Welcome to the club !

Gold & Platinum ;)
White gold is normally Gold with a mix of either nickel, manganese or palladium and then Rhodium plated for the shine.
I've never noticed any difference between "regular" Gold or white Especially when you get a nice high number like 18k. Super sound on a sov gt.
Keep hitting that beach and the gold will come - regardless of it's colour.
