Welcome Carl there are many spots around Heathcote and just up the road at Bendigo John Tully has a good map of the Whipsticks and Doug Stone has maps of Heathcote regards john

G'day Carl.There is gold all around heathcote and surrounding areas.If you google 'heathcote gold' you will get a mountain of info including Maps of previous finds,old workings and creeks ect.Your in a great spot to start with. :Y:

Thanks for the comets I am looking at going ther Saturday to try my luck a day in the bush is better then in Melbourne that's for shore just me and pan metal detectors and the dog and a can or two thanks all

You can detect day and night in any weather conditions you're able to cope with. Nearby thunder storm activity is a source of EMI though.

If you are new to this make sure you have a miners right and carry it with you.

Check Parks Victoria and GeoVic to make yourself aware of any restrictions that may apply and ensure you fill all your holes.

Hi all got out there yesterday my first time out I fund what look like old minds had a lot of what I think was a water Chanel had a lot of noise on deter but hard work it out need more time out there I think I did find a rock with I think is gold in it little specks threw it good day out

I will post pics when I can I just got a chip metal detector from eBay just to see if I like it I will play with it for a while then spend good money on a good one when I can I have pics of old mind to I will put up to I all so run in to for gold hunters to so I must be I the right place thanks for replys

Now look really really close and just might see little specks when I was out there I didn't think much of it I thought it was a hot rock Ha newbe so I hang on to the rocks that set off my detector left them in sope water couple days and there you go gold to my sparse so don't throw rocks a way take them home give a good wash before throwing away more photos to came :Y:
