Well, I made it to a coin shop today and changed the money that I found earlier into three sixpences,.... I'm going to get a coin book especially for the currency conversion coins that I'm going to get from time to time(I can still get my silver fix that way if I'm not on the money out in the field), when I'm only finding decimal currency on the hunt.

Wow, is he a white and black minstrel ? ( I just had to google it) once again I must be too old(ha).

Went hunting something different this time,..... Amethysts.

Some more picky on Gemstone and Mineral show and tell.
That's Mrs Silver on the left(centre) and me in the right face of the crystal(as close as it gets, ha).

Ah, I can see you and your missus now, clear as mud. :D Nice little amethyst, was it a known locality or just somewhere local?

Reminds me of a beaut spot for amethysts in the northern Tanami desert, found by accident when camping for the night in a borrow pit on the side of the road, the basalts were shedding out some very nice crystals, though a long way to go for them. :)

We drove up to a known locality called Lowmead(on the way to 1770 and Agnes Waters) and went a bit bush from there.

Worked hard for it AJ,... the quartz gravel layer was almost 1 metre down, hard packed sand down to it though(you could cut a straight side down).

The copper wore away leaving shiney brass(maybe),... from a very old producing spot too).

Hunt no. 3 silver at last(about 1mm below the surface), once I heard the signal I could see the outline in the dirt(needs electrolysis one day).

It was nice to get a florin as I thought it was going to be a half penny(ha).
P.S it was in a well and truly flogged area too(every man and his dog musta missed it(too close to the surface and gave an overload signal at first)).

went to the same old well flogged spot( by every man and his dog) and come up trumps again, went just a bit further afield after getting nothing more where I was,... asked the either for my silver and noticed a nice little purple light floating above a spot about 30 metres away(maybe a trick of the light) so went straight over to it and got a good signal, 1 inch down and I get a base of an old electric light bulb, check the hole again with the probe and there is still another signal in there,... another inch deeper down and there was a nice florin(1946) sitting flat in the bottom of the hole,.. so, I started to do a circular grid around the target site and no more than two feet away there was another good signal,... bingo,... a nice shilling(1942s).

Seek and ye shall find ...
Those big flashing signs with an arrow pointed at the spot saying 'dig here' really help
I find big X's on the beach showing me where to dig :D

couldn't see the big X's through the grass, I was just lucky enough to spot my little friend showing me the way(ha).
