Well..... guess what !
A florrie is about 28 mm wide
And I thought I found an old thick penny

Cause the side I could see had a young Victoria on it

You can tell it's brittish.... just look at them teeth :p

So it's not a penny I thought... it has a readed edge and is bigger than a florrie at 32 mm

So not sure whether it's a five shilling or a 2&1/2 shilling... seems overkill in size if it were only a half shilling more than my sniffer1913 florrie, there for comparison.
Anyway all I need next is to find a gold coin at one of my favourite spots

Thanks fellas.... imagine realising that had found its way out of ya pocket way back when.... tears of blood 8.(

No tears now though :D

Thanks fellas... I'm over the moon about finally finding a big old silver myself(long time waiting and watching others get there before me  ), I'm soon glad I didn't give it a big touch with the end of the digger(almost too big to miss :p ), and when it comes to sovs, we'll as soon as I come in year range with any coin find,I circle hunt radiating outwards digging all mid tone targets as well, just incised there was a sov involved in a fall type coin spill spread. ;) ;)
