Prospecting in the Wedderburn Goldfields Victoria

We have finally arrived at wedderburn and today the sun is shining after a huge downpour yesterday, we went to see the spanner man near Boort his does amazing sculptures made only of spanners some are seven metres high marlins, shearers with fleece worth a look by appt only. Today we dig have been out once and detected the major bullet and nails some have cleaned the area for the next poor sole. Will I find my first nugget fingers crossed hi to everyone got any info on where to go much appreciated, maybe your competition may be easier....

Today stood at the exact spot the welcome stranger the biggest nugget ever found in the world it looked absolutely no different to any of the bush around the area. This must be a game of luck and patience. Good luck to everyone having a swing.
The bush north of wedderburn has been burnt off recently making it a bit easier for everyone, but beware the bull ants I had four on my track pants yesterday thankfully I tucked in my socks, still dropped strides very quickly just to be sure.

Some nice nuggets were found not long after they burnt the bush there, couple of big ones out of queens gully.

Hit the jackpot the other day out the back of the wedderburn caravan found a nugget with the weight of 57.7grams now are at a bit of a loss who to sell it to. Detector company seem to offer gold price less 20% however the only one of that weight I could find was approx six thousand any advice on where to sell in victoria would be much appreciated. Amazing buzz first find this big. Thanks for all the previous advice guys. Ureka.

Nice one mate ! I get the best price on eBay, usually about $60 a gram for ones like that. If that doesnt work, P W Beck in south Australia will give you spot price minus $150 refining fee, they are very good to deal with and trustworthy. If you ring them they send a insured courier round to get it and the money goes straight into your bank, usually takes about 10 days.
All the gold buyers I have met in Victoria offer a similar price , spot price minus 20%, don't sell it for that mate, there too hard to find to just give away.
Is Jesse still there? He is in a little van near Di the old lady in the corner.

Hey diggerdude didn't meet Jessie but lady Di is still there fun character, we met Wendy and bob who are regular visitors they were the ones who weighed nugget for us, said it was the biggest they'd seen, also another prospector called bob said you've gotta be f...... Joking me when I told him it was my first find. Thanks for that advice, think i will either sell privately or maybe hang on to it, first one sentimental you know.
