Ok i wish i could say i found these but in fact they were given to me by my farther after i told him of my new interest in coin hunting...He handed me an old tobacco tin full of pre decimal coins and some decimal coins, one bieng a 1966 50 cent piece...i have picked out 2 coins to show you guys and hopefully get some feed back on them as i can't find anything about these coins on the internet yet...so i thought i would see if anyone on here could help me out before going to a coin collector

The first one is a 1948 penny
The second is a 1944 half penny

Any help would be great,thanks

Hi Morph , they are Enlglish coins, both minted in the 10s of millions. The lustre on the half penny indicates its in possibly mint condition. Not valuable , but tonight I wil look at the dates in the catalogue for you

Cheers Paul

Hi Morph . 1948 penny is valued at 6 pounds if uncirculated , no price if less grade. 1944 halfpenny is also 6 pounds for Unc & yours may be close. This book is 2004, Cheers Paul

Thanks heaps Paul. hopefully i'll do a bit better on the others that were given to me. I also have a 1917 penny that might do better, but in total i was given about 10 penny's,4 half penny's,a six pence and a three pence all australian minted, i think...lol..You might be able to tell i'm new to all this, but loving it...John..aka Morph..

Hi John , if you give me the denomination & date of the Oz coins may be some good ones . Cheers Paul

thanks Paul...John..

Hi John , the 1922 penny is the better date & the 1932 also , but maimly depends on condition. If they are all uncirculated they are all in the $100's at least, if they are worn, they are worth a $1. None are scarce dates.

Cheers Paul
