Gday prospectors,

Long time member, been AWOL a while but thought you guys n gals would be perfect to identify what these are made of!

History of items...they where my Nans who passed back in 2004 and have been in my storage ever since. From what I could gather from family history/gospel, they where her Great Aunts/Aunts which would put them at least a 1940 or even earlier. Family has been in Australia since 1788 so god knows they come from.

My guess is depression era, the mirror and brush are really heavy, but comb is light..no noticeable markings showing silver etc...Brush is horse hair.

What do you think its made of? I have no idea...

I tried to set it on fire....deffo not magnesium. :)

I like the pewter thought, but to put my mind at ease, might just take it to a jeweler or someone who has one of metal xray machines who can tell you what it is..
Its a family heirloom as such, even if it is just bit of tin, with some silver on top..it is definitely older than my vintage 77..and not made in china.
