Dr. Barry McGowan author of many books on the history of early gold digging in the south eastern area of Australia, passed away on 1st of September 2018 in Canberra.
His funeral was held yesterday the 7th September 2018 at St James' Uniting Church in Curtin.
Barry was awarded an OAM at the last Queens birthday honours and because of Barry's ill health was presented his award by the Governor General of Australia at Barry's bedside in the hospital two days before his passing.
Barry, you were a wealth of knowledge and will be missed by many people. R.I.P.
