I used to fly into Cannibal Creek in the 80s. Had to overfly the strip to check for road traffic as the road went through the middle of the strip. The mining operator was AUR mining (long since gone) but I used to love going around with the geo checking out the old chinese pitchings and diggings. Great times going to strips like Fine gold Creek, Mt Diane, Fern Hill bend for numerous small operators. Sadly it all shut down due to native title but we certainly had some hard characters out there who worked and partied hard. Fond memories
