This is a very interesting story about 700,000 objects excavated from the Amstel River when it was pumped dry during the construction of a new Metro Railway.

The first link is a story about it, and the second link has objects on a timeline. As you scroll down the page, you see increasingly older stuff.

It goes from objects dated 2005 as far back as 120,000 years. There are some very interesting coins and relics to be seen.

Amazing what people lose throw or gets washed into away.
Really love these kinds post and seeing the history behind the objects found is a fascinating insight into the past not often seen.
