Long weekend gold near Newcastle ?

Hey guys, heading Newcastle way over long weekend to do a return delivery , and keen
For a swing ! Which goldfields are nearest there ? Would it be Bathurst area? Anyone need
A swinging buddy , let me know. Wanna go for gold, though as had plenty coin shoots in sydney.

Forests up around Nundle might be worth a visit. I can definately recomend the feed at the pub. The fossickers way continues right up to Inverell and Glenn Innes with a number of renown gold locations.

Probably take months to have a decent look though.

Depending on work and family commitments I would be interested in a swing.
