Keeping with the theme, I ave just finished reading "The Gold Rush" by David Hill. It is an amazing read and finishes with the story of Lasseter. A truely historical write up on the gold rushes throughout Australia, the Eureka Stockade and the disgusting treatment on the Chinese Gold miners.
It also has a very interesting chapter on Gympie gold discoveries. Yobskin may be interested.
