Im a master gem cutter and have a faceting mancave so good I have to wash the drool off the floor visiters leave behind. By master cutter it means I cut both diamond and coloured stones as well as rare and difficult to cut materials. I have two lathes ,a mill,a Cylindrical grinder 3 kilns and a 600 tonne capacity press.
I manufacture sintered diamond laps and alloy based polishing laps to suit all materials. I also make dop sticks and re-machine polishing laps, and unlike other re-machining lap services offered by other lap sellers I except lead based laps and are half the price. I enjoy the social interactions with other cutters and have free open days a few times a year. I mostly commercial cut but only for a very select clientel as my cutting is very specialised. So I apolologise for not being available to cut your finds. I have a very prospective student in King Solomon who encourages me to keep producing my unusual laps and talking about my ideas even the ones that create controversy like the one that got me kicked off ALF. So please welcome me I need a new home to show Australian manufacturing isn't dead.

G'day Anthony, welcome aboard. I came out to your open day when Kingsolomon was checking out the machine he bought from you. You have certainly put him on the right track, the stones he has done right from the start have amazed me. Good on you for sharing your knowledge.

All the best.

welcome

great to have free thinking innovator's around

do your own thing and keep thinking despite any obstruction from 'the establishment'

by the way , do you work with forming industrial diamond rock cutting segments or is there no worthwhile commercial gain due to asian competition ?

Its so Nice to feel wanted on this forum and I will participate as much as I can. thank you all.
I only produce faceting laps at this stage and maybe grinding wheels in the future. I try not to make anything available already as I hate hearing "I can get that for a dollar in china" they can but don't because it costs money to send money and if it arrives it wears out or brake very quickly. So I design things not easly replicated OS to keep a neice in the market.Did I say niece or niech or neech. Anyway you no what I meen. Korea or India for segments.

niche

smart strategy

we cant compete with overseas labour rates so the smart money positions into things that cant be supplied by anyone else for reasons of quality , technology or innovation.

its a rapidly changing world so we either get versatile and innovative or we fade away. :|

good onya and good luck
