hi I am rod and live in Salisbury.
I am an avid fisherman and 68 years old.
I thought about metal detecting as fishing and detecting would go hand in hand and add to my fitness.
Most detectors were out of my price range till I heard about the go find by minelab.
Put a go find 40 on layby and got it off last xmas.
not having a clue what I was doing but have got used to this tool.
I know it is only bottom range and some consider it a toy.
It suits me as it is very light around the one kilo.
haven't as yet got a pinpointer but that's on the list.
into my 5th month now and have found 230 coins in parks and beaches a few costume rings and other bits and pieces.
its working slowly and have amassed $84 in spendables a 1952 penny and my best find albeit in poor condition an 1860ish queen vic bronze penny.
looking forward to being on this forum and learning plenty.
Cheers rod

A detector is not a tool
its a baby which needs love and cuddles and kind words a nice rub down after a hard days work a nice meal before going to work (charging) and nothing beats pride of place in the house maybe its own blanket to rest upon
God i realy need to get out and do some detecting i am going mad ]:D
Enjoy this site mate ]:D
