Hello everyone my name is Kenny, I’m really new to everything here
I’ve just become the proud owner of a GPX 4500 along with a camper trailer and a 4x4
My intentions are to learn how to use this detector and follow all the red tape that is needed and required to venture off at the end of the year prospecting
Now i know before everybody starts telling me that’s the worst time of year to be doing this because of the weather but when is it right?
I’ve chosen this time as it’s going to be my retirement time and I’m so looking forward to it and I’m afraid no one will tell me any different lol
Anyway guys and girls i hope this is enough to hopefully get to know everyone here and look forward to learning more about this so if there’s any good videos, books or classes i could be looking at please im all ears
Thank you all again for letting me join this group and again looking forward to sharing
Regards Kenny

Reeds run some courses in Midvale that may be of interest:
https://reedsprospecting.com.au/pages/coursesWould be best to do some type of detecting course to get you going on the 4500 which is a great detector. Also something that covers WA's rules, 40E process etc. would be beneficial for a new starter.
These videos may also be of interest:

Thank you to everyone with your replies
Just a quick question though what’s the chances on going on a prospecting trip with someone who knows everything already, you see I’m more of a hands on learner than a school student type after a motor vehicle accident in 2005 leaving me with some brain damage affecting my cognitive abilities I believe this would be a great opportunity
Oh and by the way i would be so very independent and wouldn’t need anything other than just the area, times and detecting experience would be so much more beneficial and fun mind you but I guess that would only be possible if someone would be willing to have me lol

Detecting time is precious for most such people, as are their chosen locations. Few if any would want a newbie along for the ride, I'm afraid.
