Hi all - new to the forum

Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I've had a good read through all the older posts to try to get some background as I'm new to gold and gem fossicking/prospecting.

I'm Brisbane based currently. I've done a bit of fossil fossicking over in NZ but nothing in the last few years.

I've got young kids who I want to get into a bit of prospecting so hoping to get some family friendly advice from the forum. Mainly thinking a bit of gold panning in the public areas and a trip to Inverell / Glen Innes in summer.

I've got a few questions regarding the deep creek area and whether its safe for kids etc - I'll put a post under the alluvial section.

Seems like a wealth of information on here which is awesome!
