Hi I have a Garmin Oregon 450t handheld GPS in need of some tlc. The rubber on the on/off button split then tore out. It is an old favourite, the workings are fine just the on/off rubber needs replacing, does anybody know where I could get this fixed, I have tried googling it with no joy. I live in Adelaide. Cheers peterau

I suspect your best bet is Garmin.

Handheld GPS units are usually submersible so need specialised opening and resealing and, of course, the keypad matrix covers will be a Garmin only spare. Give Garmin a call, most manufacturers have a fixed price repair for these sorts of devices.

Garmin have a fixed price repair system that is a reconditioned unit. You will loose any marked points and tracks that you have stored, unless you back them up. than when you get your reconditioned unit you can then reload the waypoints back on your new unit. I use Garmin mapsource to backup and restore. Ken.
