Yeah I believe they're Diamonds but you don't truly know unless you test them. And yup started off the year the way I ended 2020 with Gold. :Y:

There's been a huge change in my detecting and it feels good... Having more fun, not worrying about what I find as long as there's Gold in there somewhere lol..
Anyway I got out last night to my patch and it's still producing some goodies, I'd love another foot of sand to disappear then I might get onto some older finds... I love it when lead sinkers show up because usually in the immediate area other finds pop up and sure enough two silvers florin and threepence..
Today was something different, dry sand detect which is rare for me nowadays but glad I did because fresh drops were plentiful, I even managed a 4.8grammer 9ct gold ring... :Y:

Local knowledge and listening to my intuition seems to be working for me. Now I gotta get out to the gold fields. :Y:

Got out for a detect last night with my 16year old son Jacob... He wasn't excited with any of the finds, I was ecstatic with any finds considering the depth of the targets but was totally stuffed at the end of it. Managed to get some goodies so happy as can be.

Out again last night and met up with Yulia who gifted me a snake ring... Me being the kind of person who likes to trade I gifted back some silvers.. Threepence, Shilling and Modern florin.. Yulia said she had all of those so I said look again there's a special one you haven't got. Yup I gave Yulia my prized Gothic Florin and she was Gobsmacked...
Anyway I was surprised to get a few goldies and ring from an area that gets detected alot, guess they're not gridding and walking in straight lines again.

My patch that I've been working needs more sand moved as its hard to pick up on the scratchy signals, I did find another spot where the sand layer has been removed revealing a rocky, stone bottom and its very popular over the summer months so I'll be checking that out very soon.

Nice finds Gda. That little wheel looks like the lead ones I find sometimes - assume they are from old toys.

Speaking of snakes, I found this silver snake pendant a few weeks back which I don't think I posted - was fully caked in tarnish and took quite a bit of cleaning.

Got out early this morning for a detect and met up with Yulia... We had a good detect and only a small amount of spendies but it all adds up to a new detector once my bucket is full..
Upon leaving I noticed a homeless guy sleeping underneath cover at the old yacht club, I looked in my wallet and I had $10 in there so I walked over woke him up and said here you go mate. He said thanks I gave him the thumbs up and said take care mate then left to come home.
I'd never seen him before today so he must of wandered into the City over the last few days to find somewhere to stay.

I tried to give $10 to a bloke staying in a shop door opening but he constantly knocked me back.... on reflexion later I came to the conclusion that the man was under deep cover and had absolutely no need if help.

I can never walk past without saying gidday or giving what's in my wallet.. I don't carry alot of notes as I've no need to unless I know I'm doing a full day dig and want to stop on the way home to buy a feed. I guess that $10 was always meant for the gentleman. :Y:

Out last night for a quick swing to see if anything was, around.. 3 cars and 30c was my lot, when the weathers hot above 30celcius there's not alot on offer.
This morning was a little better but on a different beach, a few spendies, small Silver ring and silver Angel wings...
Later in the week is cooler temperatures and the tides are going to be perfect to do some water detecting on several beaches..
